Russell Huebner Announces Candidacy
for Kyle City Council District 6

With a vision to preserve Kyle’s quality of life, managing its economic growth, and bringing an end to excessive borrowing and tax hikes, Russell Huebner announces his candidacy for Kyle City Council District 6. “Kyle is ripe for continued development and, as a member of the City Council, I will bring new energy, enthusiasm, and leadership to city hall.”

“We are at a crossroad in the city’s development and must be diligent about how we approach the future,” said Huebner. “I am running for Kyle City Council because I believe in this great city and its potential. The city has made a tremendous start, but we must control debt creation and restore fiscal responsibility for the sake of our future. New energy and enthusiasm is needed at City Hall to address growth issues that maximize the city’s potential without jeopardizing the reason why many of us call Kyle home. I am very concerned by the debt which has been created, the tax hikes which have taken place, and the future tax hikes scheduled for the years to come.”

ELECTION DAY

7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Huebner has been endorsed by former District 6 City Council member Ray Bryant, who has stepped down to run for Hays County Commissioner Precinct 2, who states: “I am pleased that Russ is willing to serve the people of District 6. I believe he will continue to represent the citizens and their concerns on City Council and continue to provide the strong leadership we need.”

Huebner is dedicated to public service and believes city government must guide development in a fiscally responsible way that builds upon our success and sense of community. A community-supported vision for growth must be created, including a strong financial forecast that puts our future in our control. According to Huebner, “Through this managed growth effort, we can plan for roads, parks, water, wastewater systems, and other important projects and assess the impact growth will have on the demands of our police and fire to preserve our public safety.”

Huebner attended Richmond International University in London, England and graduated in 2001 from Texas Tech University with a B.A in History and a minor in General Business. Over the past seven years, Huebner has worked for two Fortune 100 companies, Wells Fargo Bank and J.P. Morgan Chase Bank. He currently works for Pioneer Bank in Dripping Springs as Director of Business Development. Huebner became involved in the local business community through his membership in the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Strategic Planning and Finance Committee for the City of Kyle.

He is married to Johnell Huebner, owner of Clearly Classy Events and Secretary of the Kyle Chamber of Commerce. The Huebners are the proud parents of a daughter, Madeline, and a son, Ashton.
